Our 1st visit

23 June 2007

It's our 1st visit to the gynacologist for our little baby. We decided to go to Dr. Christopher Chong at GlenE. Plan to visit him on Mon, but i got a bit of infection. The nurse advise me to vist him ASAP.
Arrvied the clinic in the morning. Wait for quite a while till we saw him. HE look funny with the bow tie. But he is friendly. Have a checkup, he clear up my infection and have a scan.
He mention it will be our lucky day if we can see heartbeat during 6th week of pregnancy. So, it's our lucky day! We saw our little baby, measuring 0.38cm and blink of heartbeat on the montior! EDD is 16 Feb 2008. He mentioned the baby is still too small to get the confirmed Due date. He will advise us the due date on the next visit.
Dr. Chong give me loads of pills for me and the baby. I hate that! I've got Folic acid, Fish oil capsules, Calcium pills, multivitamins and Antibiotics for infection.

Sharing the news

21 June 2007

Being a bit "pang tan" on rumors that we are not to spread the news to too many people in our early stage. We have decided just to share the news with family members, close relatives and close friends. It's fun to see other people reactions when they heard the news. Hee...

Sorry if i've yet to tell you the news... But dun worry, u'll get to know it soon!
Currently, I've ask for votes: GIRL OR BOY?

It's seems like the BOY POWER is stronger. Let's wait and see... I heard that we can scan and see the baby sex as early as 4 months.

GIRL, GIRL, GIRL...

Mr Mum Pregnancy Phenomenon

Read an article on internet talking about "Mr Mum Pregnancy Phenomenon". Also known as Couvade Syndrome.

Whereby some fathers-to-be experience symptoms of pregnancy right along with their pregnant partners. Although it's hard to determine the frequency of Couvade, some researchers estimate that anywhere from 11 to 65 percent of expectant fathers experience some symptoms. And while the symptoms of Couvade Syndrome are thought to be largely psychosomatic, they are very real for the men who are suffering from nausea, vomiting, weight gain, loss of appetite, insomnia, heartburn, headaches, mood swings, backaches, and itchy skin.

Some men even report having abdominal pains while their partners are in labor. Generally the symptoms appear towards the end of the pregnancy, although they have been known to begin as early as the end of the first trimester.

So if you are experiencing Couvade, rest assured that there is a cure: childbirth. The symptoms disappear almost immediately after the baby is born. In the meantime, spend this Father's Day indulging in your current craving and nursing your aching back on the couch with your pregnant partner; after all, misery does love company.

My pregnancy week 5

15 June 2007

Growth is now focused on their little head, which is starting to develop much more rapidly than the rest of their tiny body. The amazing brain is undergoing some very crucial and rapid development in order to effectively regulate their heart rate, blood circulation, and other vital functions. As for the rest of their miniature body, what were simple limb buds last week are limb flippers this week and the tail is more expressed. Amazingly, within a mere five weeks your little miracle is already developing the rudimentary forms of their liver, pancreas, lungs, stomach and nasal pits while their little heart is already increasing its circulation.

We've went to a family doctor to confirm the pregnancy last week. So I've start to increase intake of folic acid.

We've inform our family on the good news this week! Still trying to accept the "truth" that i'm carrying another life in me!

The good news

10 June 2007

A lazy Sunday morning.

Wake up alone on bed (as Ka Man left the house early to attend a wedding) and start having a strange idea:- To test for pregnancy! Cos i've been feeling a bit OFF these days. My period is late for 2 days...

So the feeling is right! The pregnancy test kit show positive! I'm pregnant!

Took a picture of the test kit and place it on our computer wallpaper. He got to know the good news when i told him to turn on the computer at night. (He is half-drunk after the wedding dinner).

Such a special way to tell him that he is going to be a dad!
