Break record measurement at 101cm!

29 Dec 2007

I've break record! A 101cm tummy measurement. My belly button have all surfaced... So cute, and a bit popping out. Little Tsui is getting limited place inside. I think he is coming to 2kg soon and mummy is going to hit another personal record of weighting more than 65kg. (Ha... while typing this, Little Tsui kick and move. I think he agreed!)

Luckily, i've yet to see any water retention on me. Still able to wear covered shoes. But tummy is getting itchy. I've try very hard not to scratch as other mummies say the stretch marks will appear. So i just keep applying lotion.

Still have craving for Chocolates, any Chocolate flavoured items, Cheese, Rojak, Tao Suan with yu tiao and Chicken!

Merry Christmas!

25 Dec 2007

It's Xmas! This year Christmas is so different. Lots of activities from 19 to 25 Dec.

19 Dec: As an organizer, i've plan a X'mas dinner at Hooters for my company, then follow by KTV. Didn't won big prize, but have a great dinner.

21 Dec: Meet up with my poly friends for a steam boat dinner at Bugis. Reach there quite late (SORRY!), cos need to finish my work and got a "speed limit" for my walking pace. I have feel the tummy weight and have to slow down my pace now. Then we have gift exchange there, follow by a Starbuck drink.

22Dec: Meet up my parents for dinner to Red Star Chinese restaurant then went down to Orchard to took pictures. Almost all pics i find myself look round... Sighz... Just a month plus more!

23 Dec: Meet up with friends for dinner at Suntec City, Surf N Turf.

24 Dec: Meet Ka Man for a movie after work and a bit of phototaking at Vivocity. Then we went
back home for a mini X'mas countdown.

DID and BROUGHT Lists

22 Dec 2007

Based on the TO-DO and TO-BUY LISTS which i wrote out earlier, we have made up some decisions

1. After our maternity tours to Gleneagles and Mount Alvernia. We have decided to go Mount Alvernia for delivery. 1st, the price, 2nd, spacious and nice room (see pic on the right), 3rd, like the service personnel (very friendly) and lastly, Gleneagles maternity dept is under renovation till Mar.

2. I've ask Dr. Chong about breast feeding and whether i need to go for pre-natal classes. He mentioned not really needed. But he still remind me not to simulate my n*pple, as it will induce labour. He dun wan me to have early labour. I read that on books, so NOTED!

3. We are still thinking of a chinese name for baby. Have shortlisted some, but some of the meaning is not so good, have to restart again. (Haiz... should I confirm Kayden for him?)

4. I got my driving license le...

5. I need to start packing some things back to my parent house. And also start packing for the admin-bag.

6. Still considering to paint the room for baby. But Ka Man a bit lazy and not very willing...

7. Discuss with my boss on my maternity leave. I might start to go on leave on my 38/39 wks, which is from 4 Feb. This is only workable if i dun 've early labour (maybe in 37wk)

TO-BUY-LIST

1. A Cabinet for baby stuffs. Might plan to get ikea one, that cost only $89. Or just go neighborhood's furniture shop to see.

2. Baby Cot. Went to look around and compare prices. All of them cost abt $300.

3. Baby Stroller. Comparing the spec, i think i quite like Combi Ricco W KV 680, it's light weight and have reversible handle. http://www.taising.com/images/Combi_kv680.jpg
Cost abt $488.

4. Not getting Car seat and Baby bottle sterilizer

5. Water boiler (Budget abt $100, plan to use vouchers to buy)

Christmas is coming... But i dun feel the Christmas mood yet...

32wk Gynae visit

19 Dec 2007

Went to the gynae today, pop a few qns and scan little Tsui again. Very active and strong heart beat. Due to his position, his face is facing my back, i can't see his big eyes this time. Maybe next visit lo... He is weighing 1.94kg now. The body size is at 32wk but his head is bigger. OMG! It's a 35 wk bb head. Oh, oh... i think it'll be a tough labour later. And for mummy, i weigh 64kg now. Wahhh... I've gain 12 kg le... Then the ongoing infection is still around. Haiz... Dr. Chong will schedule to do a test during my 36 wks, to make sure the infection is ok for normal delivery. If not i'll have to opt for c-section. Cross finger...

Looking forward for the next visit which will be 2 wks away. As EDD is getting closer, the frequency of gynae visits get more.

He winks at us!

11 Dec 2007

I need to visit the gynae as i need to get a doctor letter in order for me to take my driving test on 13 Dec. But Dr. Chris Chong is not in Singapore. I've to make a trip to another gynae (that Dr. Chris Chong recommend). He is Dr. Henry Cheng at The Women's Specialist Centre.

So after my customer visit on 11 Dec, we went down to Bishan to see him. A very friendly doctor. After a few routine questions, taking my blood pressure, weight and height, he have to do a scan, just to make sure Little Tsui is ok.

Little Tsui still have very strong heart beat. And Dr Cheng double confirm it's a boy. (Sighz...) Then i request to see his face. Then we saw him winks at us! Hee... So cute.

Dr. Cheng say Little Tsui have a round face. I find Little Tsui have my eyes and nose. Kaman is a bit jealous... Haha...

After that, he issue me a doctor letter for my driving test and wish me good luck!

P.S. I passed my driving test on 13 Dec. Thank you for all the lucks "given" by all and Little Tsui. Cos your little wink works!

Countdown less than 60 days...

Fighting!

These few weeks, Little Tsui has been "Fighting!". He've been moving a lot inside on my way to work, after lunch, before dinner, before sleep. For now, i not only feel the little kicks and movement. I can feel his movement from right to left, from top to bottom then sometime, something hard on one side of my tummy, as if he is putting his elbow or knee there. Very interesting view to see my tummy "changes shape". Every night I'll spend a bit of time staring at my tummy, cos it's so cute!

I'm sure... he is going to be a martial art expert when he is out...

Water (Tears) tap run loose?!

Have my water (tears) tap run loose?!

I've been a very emotional person. Meaning = i get frustrated, excited, sad easily. So i can shed tear within minutes!

During these few months, things get worse and a bit out of control. My "water tap" can just run loose over small and stupid issues...

One incident happen in the office: I forgot to keep my laptop into my drawer the day before. So the next day in the office, i can't find my laptop. I start to ask my colleagues whether they have saw it somewhere. Then everyone have that cheeky look on their face saying that they don't know. I know i've been funk'd. But after 30 mins, i still can't find where they hide the laptop. My tears start to went loose... That is when the rest start to panic... Oh oh... she is crying. My service manager finally reveal the truth. Everyone start laughing and come toward me and took pictures. So bad... They ask me, why did i cry when i know i've been funk'd? I just say I DON'T KNOW. Sighz... maybe the BB hormones?!

Another incident is about Chocolate Eclair: It happen during the weeks when i'm sick. I've the urge to eat chocolate eclairs. And i want to go Delifrance to get one during our shopping trip at Orchard. But Kaman just ignore me. So i'm very pissed off during the way home and my tears are rolling inside my eyes. When we reached home, he need to go downstairs to pack dinner. He ask me what i want. I just tell him: I WANT CHOCOLATE ECLAIR! He say he know i've the craving for it, but he wouldn't want me to eat it b'cos i'm coughing like mad. Eating chocolate now will make it worse. It is then my tears came out... I just want to eat... A small bite will be good enough. In the end, I got my dinner and chocolate eclairs as dessert! Hee... Thank you, dear!

My bump and me

24 November 2007

It's time for another tummy photo taking. There is not much increase in size. I'm now measuring 94cm, a increase of 3 cm. But for weight wise, i'm now 61kg! I've gain 9kg from the start till now.

From a pregnancy magazine i read that the extra weight gain are:

Breast 8% 0.72kg
Placenta 9% 0.81kg
Ammniotic fluid 11% 0.99kg
Weight of Baby 39% 3.51kg
Expanded uterus 11% 0.99kg
Extra blood volume 22% 1.98kg

Dr. Chris Chong also mention that my weight gain now is normal, not too much or less. Just eat healthy...

My 3rd batch of medicine

19 November 2007

These are my 3rd batch of medicine for my flu and cough. This are from my gynae, with antibiotic and cough syrup and blah blah blah... Cross my fingers... Hopefully these can helps... Cos the cough is the main torture. Can't sleep well with the "non-stop coughs" and i know Litttle Tsui dun like the cough too.

Another visit to gynae

17 November 2007

Our gynae visit again! This time going for an oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) to check for Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM). So i've to go without food last night, It's a torture for a "still-sick" pregnant woman. I'm starving for food and coughing "like mad"....

This morning, we got to the clinic and have my blood draw to keep as the baseline and also urine sample taken. Then she let me drink a super sweet carbonated drink (luckily is orange flavored). I've sit and wait for another 2 hours before the next blood and urine sample can be taken. These samples will be tested to know how my body react to sugar intake. So finally at 11 plus, we went over to Dr. Chris Chong's clinic to have my routine checkup.

Ultra-scan to see my little bb... he is doing great! He have his spine facing up. So can't see his face. But we got to hear his heartbeat again. Quick and strong! He is weighing 1.47kg now. Getting heavier once time. A very good sigh. The EDD might be earlier, at this growth rate. Although, i'm not in 28weeks yet, but bb is more than 29weeks in size.

So the same thing, infection is around. Sighz... A cleanup and medicated gel is given. Also a few different medicines for my flu and coughs. The bill came up to be over $200 again.

Then we left the clinic for LUNCH! I'm so hungry that i ask for a peach tart at Delifrance. I can't wait to eat!!!! We went to Far East Plaza for chicken rice then to Orchard library to borrow some pregnancy related books. After that, just go home to eat medicine and sleep. This is my Saturday... sighz...

When is the good old days coming back?!

14 Nov 2007

Arrgghhh... Still sick. Have been at home popping pills, sleep, wake up, eat, pee and sleep, eat and pee... A very bad cough on Monday, then a fever yesterday. Went to the doc, she give me 2 days MC to stay at home to rest. Sighz...

When is the good old days coming back?! I almost need to "stay-in" the toilet... pee and pee and pee... Little Tsui is getting my bladder pressurized...

My dinner dresses

12 November 2007

With the changing body size, there is a lot of clothes i can't wear. Including some favorite dinner dresses... So sad... So with a few wedding dinner invitations, I've to look for a few dinner dresses to wear. I become more concern of my looks since i got pregnant... I'll keep thinking " Do i look fat in this?!" ( Although, I think it is a very stupid question...)
So this is how i wear for the 3 wedding dinners I've attended. ( i think the black dress make me look less pregnant.)

But I might need more dresses for the upcoming dinners! Hee...

We got sick together...

11 November 2007

It's the first time we got sick together. On 7 November morning, i can feel the "flu virus" have got me. The whole day is "ya, i think I'm going to fall sick...". And true enough, i got a flu. That's the worst holiday i got, 8 Nov is a PH. As I've my A-Mei's concert tickets on hand... Arrgghhh... I pop a few pills, then rest for the whole day and still went for the long waited concert with the flu!

9 Nov- Next day is worst, I've to take MC from work and go the doctor. She can't give me much, as I'm pregnant. But add up all the necessary pills i've to take normally, I've to pop in 9 pills in total! That's so scary...

10 Nov and 11 Nov- The weekend is bad... still flu flu flu... Saturday, i just leave the house to have my lunch and a haircut downstairs. Then Sunday i went for my 1st pre-natal yoga at True yoga and follow by a wedding dinner at night. I still feel sick. Not 100% back to normal. How can a little flu virus got me to this kind of state?! Sighz...

Hopefully, i can be back to normal and 100% energy soon... Monday is coming...

2nd Trimester to 3rd Trimester worries

6 Nov 2007

The second trimester is made of weeks 14 to 26. I'm at my week 26 le... Countdown 98 days to EDD on 12 Feb (or maybe earlier).

My belly is getting rounder and continue to gain weight. I do look pregnant, but maybe with my dress code and hairstyle, some people on train have that kind of questions in mind " Is she pregnant a not? Or she jus have a very full buffet? Or "She is jus fat? Or "I think she dun need the seat?!"

Ignoring a pregnant lady is so annoying! This is really something i hate. If i'm not tired, i'm fine with YOU taking the seat. But if i need the seat, I need YOUR seat! My belly carry weight... It's not like a balloon, it's containing water, which weight KGS!

I still prefer bus, not saying the people on bus give up their seats for me. It's because there are more seats on the bus compare to train.

Can people treat me like a pregnant lady?
- I can't walk at fast pace now, cos i'm more heavy
- Although i like to sit at top deck on bus, i've my worries going up and down the stairs when the bus is moving
- I get hungry easy and fast, just let me eat!
- I need more clothes, cos a lot of the old ones can't be worn
- I need more love from people around me.

So many worries, getting pre-birth depression?

Will our BB仔 grow up like him?

4 Nov 2007

Minna no Tabo 大口仔

He is Ka Man's favorite cartoon character. He is born (created) in 1984, 5 May... It's our wedding anniversary! We have almost the whole house filled with him... Our bedsheet, master bedroom toilet, kitchen tiles and small items like key chain and plates. Cos people usually say to paste more cute cute baby pictures on the wall, then your bb will grow up like him... I'm looking at a lot of Minna no Tabo... Will our BB仔 grow up like him?

But Ka Man does look a bit like him... Haha...

How’s Everyone doing?

How’s Little Tsui doing?

Little Tsui is a “Bruce Lee” at night. The little one is moving (spinning, kicking, pirouetting, and shimmying). I’ve ask Ka Man to touch my belly, he get a “mild sample” of what I’ve been experiencing. So fun!

The last visit to Gynae on Sat went well. Fast and easy. Nothing much to worry. Little Tsui is growing well. Currently his weight is about 800gm, increase 500gm for just 1 month. That's fast! Means i've been feeding him very well!

How’s Mommy doing?

Getting a bit restless these few days... The “power consumption” is getting bigger. I get tired quite early. The bad habit of sleeping on the sofa is back in action (which Ka Man hates it!) Then infection is back in action too! Dr. Chong have reminded me again that this will be a ongoing battle with the infection throughout the pregnancy. What to do?! Sighz… The bb hormones…

And before i left for HK, Or i would say 1 month ago. I'm 57kg. Now I've gain again! I'm 59kg now. Approaching the number 6... So scary!

How’s Daddy doing?

Spending and spending for Little Tsui and Mommy! And headache on the names for Little Tsui.

Skin changes during pregnancy

I know that during pregnancy there will be a lot of changes to my body. Recently I’ve realise a lot changes to my skin. So I’ve done a bit of search on net. Wow… Quite a few to take note:

This is something I’ve recently seen on my tummy:

1. Linea nigra (dark line running up your tummy) This is a dark, vertical line, up to a centimetre wide, that appears down the middle of your stomach, often crossing the navel. It tends to appear around the second trimester and is caused by pigmentation in the skin where your abdominal muscles stretch and slightly separate to accommodate your baby as it grows.

But good news! This line of pigmentation will fade within a few weeks of delivery,

I do see my skin glowing and my face look rounder!

2. Glowing Skin The 'bloom' or 'glow' of pregnancy is not just a saying. Your skin retains more moisture during pregnancy, which plumps it up, smoothing out any fine lines and wrinkles that you may have. The pinkish glow that makes you look radiant is due to increased levels of blood circulating round your body. This may also make you feel slightly flushed sometimes. The downside of this effect is that you may look puffy from water retention and that any red patches that you already have on your face may become more visible.

3. This is one of the scary one: Spots and acne! Pregnancy can sometimes trigger acne, which many of us have not experienced since adolescence. Higher levels of hormones can encourage the production of sebum - the oil that keeps our skin supple - and too much sebum causes pores to become blocked, resulting in greasy skin and spots.

I’ve a bit more outbreaks after pregnancy. It’s all caused by the “bb hormones”. But have to give and take lo... Exchange glowing skin for acne. A bit unfair le…But good news is a few weeks after delivery, your skin should return to its pre-pregnancy condition! Hooray!

4. This is one thing that all pregnant women scare! Stretchmarks The thin reddish or brownish (depending on your skin colour) lines of stretchmarks usually appear on the abdomen, breasts and thighs. They affect around 90 per cent of pregnant women and may appear as you put on more weight during pregnancy, causing the skin to stretch. Higher levels of hormones also disrupt your skin's protein balance, making it thinner than usual.

I’ve been super hardworking to apply creams to minimise or delay their appearance! Cos some lucky women have more elastic skin than others, meaning they won't get stretchmarks, but for most of us they are simply a fact of pregnancy. I know I can't prevent them, but I can try to minimise them by avoiding putting on weight too quickly, rubbing oil or cream rich in vitamin E over the abdomen to keep it supple, eating a healthy diet and doing gentle exercise.

5. Even before pregnancy, I’ve Sensitive, irritated skin Skin tends to become more sensitive during pregnancy, not only due to higher hormone levels, but because it has become more stretched and delicate. Soaps and detergents may suddenly cause irritation, or conditions such as eczema may become worse. Your skin may become more prickly than usual when exposed to sunlight.

Now I need to apply moisturiser to my hands and legs more often.

6. This is sometime thing I’ve tries (refer to my July blog entry): Rashes and itchiness It is common for temporary rashes and itchiness to come and go during pregnancy, without any obvious cause. Increased hormone levels make you more sensitive to contact with substances that would not normally affect you.

7. This is something new to me: Chloasma (pigmentation changes on your face and neck) Also known as the 'mask of pregnancy', chloasma has the appearance of brown patches of pigmentation on the forehead, cheeks, and neck. On darker skinned women, they appear as lighter patches. It's caused by the increased production of melanin, the tanning hormone, which protects the skin against ultraviolet light.

Good news: They will begin to fade within three months of your baby's birth.

I’ve not seen any (yet… hopefully not!)

Then I also read about other conditions that I might experience:

8. Spider veins These tiny clusters of broken capillaries (small blood vessels), or spider naevi as they are sometimes known, most often appear on the cheeks, and are common in pregnancy, particularly if you are already prone to them. They are caused by the increased volume of circulating blood putting extra pressure on the capillaries, which are also more sensitive during pregnancy.

9. Chafing As you put on weight, chafing can take place between your thighs or under your breasts, resulting in red, moist skin. Your skin may then become inflamed and blistered and you may notice an odour. This is a condition known as intertrigo.

10. Intense itching Intense itching all over, but particularly on your hands and feet, can be a sign of a rare liver disorder that only occurs in pregnancy. For 99 per cent of sufferers it causes no harm at all, but, left undiagnosed, it can lead to premature birth, excessive bleeding or, rarely, stillbirth. If you are over 37 weeks pregnant, you may be induced to avoid the rare risk of a stillbirth.

So much to learn from a pregnancy... Most importantly (which i've heard a lot recently) TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOURSELF AND BABY!

Start the spending of our saving

Our Babymoon in HK, we've start spending on baby stuffs. From clothes, baby wrap cloth, bed set, pillow, milk bottles to small stuffs like towels, toys, powder puff and container, we've almost clear the whole store to Singapore.

Later these few months will be big spending, as we need to get a baby cot, stroller, milk bottles sterilizer, kettle, baby bath needs, cupboard for baby stuffs and etc.

Daddy and Mummy need to earn more for Little Tsui...

Our Babymoon to Hong Kong

6 Oct to 13 Oct 2007

Our Babymoon to Hong Kong.

I want to travel during my pregnancy due to several reasons:

1. I won't be able to travel when i reach my late 3rd Trimester (which is coming soon... in Nov)
2. Both of us won't be able to leave the home for too long without the baby next year
3. We need to shop for baby stuffs
4. We need to visit his relatives in HK and introduce "our son" to them...
5. I need a break and shop for clothes! (Haha... Main purpose!)

In the end, we came back with overloaded bags (refer to picture below)

And with a lot of "1st time" memories... The 1st time I travel with a bump. The 1st time my "shopping stamina" is tested and proved have weaken, as my back ache after walking for hours. The 1st time i walk so slow (sighz...) The 1st time i need to take note what i eat during travel. The 1st time my shopping is limited by the size of my bump. The 1st time i went for a concert in HK with Little Tsui. The 1st time I was stop and questioned at the R.O.C custom due to my bump (when we return from our 1 day trip at Shenzhen back to HK)

So many many 1st time... Hope Little Tsui enjoy his 1st time overseas too!

Little Tsui's 1st Photo Album

My Long Waited Day Finally Came!

24 Sept 2007

My Long Waited Day Finally Came! My next Gynae visit and Detailed scan appointment! The 1st time Little Tsui can take photos...

We arrived at the hospital at 10 plus, then after a breakfast, i did the scan at about 11am. A very detailed scan of Little Tsui and finally the question have been answered. It's a boy! The Radiologist say " See... you can see the p***s, it's a boy!" (Ok, ok... that mean my six sense is accurate, it's a boy!)

The scan allow us to see the placenta, head, chest, abdomen, internal organs, arms, legs and facial. When the radiologist is doing the scan for the lips, little Tsui is acting naughty again! He is trying to suck his thumb, so covering the lips. I've to turn to lay on different side, in order to move him to a better position for the "photo-taking". We can even see him swallowing in the scan. Not too obvious cos it's a 2D scan, not 3D scan.

After we collect the report at about 12.30, meet up with my gynae. We ask him a long list of questions, including our upcoming trip to HK, pop concerts, cramps, food intake and etc... Then i got a bit of infection again. OMG! When is it going off...?

As for the report, everything is normal and good.

Quoted from my report, Single foetus lying longitudinally with cephalic presentation. Gestatinal age is around 20 weeks... Heartbeat is about 150 beats per minute. No identifiable foetal abnormality is seen... Echoes seens between the foetal thighs implying that it is of the male gender... Estimated Foetal Weight is 358gm, Length is about 14.5cm.

Dreams sweet dreams

Errgghhh... Right or Left or Front? I dunno which position to sleep. I'm starting to feel the weight at my tummy. Before marriage, i love to sleep on my right. After marriage i love to sleep on my left. Then now i dunno which position is more comfortable... Right or Left or Front? Little Tsui which is your favorite? I plan to get a small cushion or body pillow to help me...

Then at night are having those irritating leg cramps. Now highest record is same night 4 cramps! What to do, just keep massaging lo...

Have a sweet dreams!

Friday, September 21, 2007

Knock, knock... Is it you?

I think I'm feeling little Tsui inside me. I think so... I can't confirm the feeling... Is it you? A slight movement sometime inside my tummy. Is it grumbling stomach or it's you? A strange and magical feeling. Hoping to feel his/her kicks soon... Going to my scan soon... People that see me and my bump have make a "confirmed" guess of the gender. It's a boy la... Is it a he? or a chance to be a she?

Wednesday, September 19, 2007

I finally got the seat!

After 4 months and 3 weeks of "suffering", i finally got the seat! On the train! Haha...

Maybe my little bump look a bit obvious with my black top and skirt ... a lady is willing to give up her seat after I've been standing for 4 stations (going toward Woodlands from Bishan). This also prove that wearing black can't make a person look slim...

But I didn't take the seat, cos I'm getting off in another 2 stops. So this is my 1st experience.

Thank you anyway!

I'm getting bigger!

I just got bigger within 2 months... Bigger in size and weight... so "scary"... as I'll be growing bigger and bigger everyday till Feb 2008.
My Weight

In July: 53.5kg
In Sept: 56kg (WOW!)

My Tummy size
July (About 11weeks)

Back then , i can still wear my usual jeans and button up. I think tummy is about 70cm. My bottom is 91cm.

For meals, just the usual 3 main meals plus sometime snack between meal.

Sept (Abt 19 weeks)

Now, a lot of my pre-maternity bottoms can't be worn. I'm wearing a maternity jeans, with my tummy measuring 84cm and bottom at 94cm!

Now, i take Bigger breakfast, normal lunch, light dinner. The breaks and meals in between will be keep light, just not to feel hungry and uncomfortable.

So pregnancy is a very good excuse to eat and gain weight!

Haha...

Any craving yet? I realise i love to eat chicken! Not a big craving whereby i have the urge to eat in the middle of the night, just feel like eating chicken wings more often.

Hee...

Happy growing, my little baby!

An exciting trip to the Gynae again!

25 Aug 2007

It's 15weeks, 4days... This trip to the gynae will be a special one. So exciting for the ultra scan. We can see little Tusi moving in the womb. So cute... We can see the little head, heartbeat, the arms, legs... OMG! I can't believe it. A little life is growing in me....

Then came the important qns from Dr. Chong: "Do you want to know the gender of the baby?" OF COURSE! So he move the "scanner-like thing" around my tummy to get a different angle. Oh..Oh... Little Tsui is getting a bit naughty. Little Tusi cross his/her legs, then move about a bit then he/she uncross, then put the hands over the "important" part. Dr. Chong concluded that he can't confirmed. But he did mentioned there is a chance to be a boy.

Please refer to the scan printout below: (Make a guess!)

We've ask qns like whether I'm able to travel on Oct and also take driving test on Nov. Dr. Chong say it should not be a problem, he just need write us a letter. Ok, i think we are done at the gynae. Then i need to get some urine sample and blood sample for testing.

The next visit will be more wonderful. Cos i'm going for a detailed scan of Little Tsui. It'll be then we can see the little fingers, toes and face! WOW... Countdown now.

Old Wives' Tales to Predict the Sex of the Baby

Old Wives’ Tales to Predict the Sex of the Baby

If your left breast is bigger than the right during pregnancy, you're having a girl. If the right is bigger, it'll be a boy. If they are the same size, you're in for a surprise!

If you get moody during pregnancy you are more likely to have a girl. This is because all women are moody, and when carrying a girl you become doubly so.

If you carry the baby out front (others can’t see your pregnancy from behind) then you will have a boy. If others can tell that you are pregnant when looking at you from behind, then you will have a girl.

Have the mum-to-be pick up a key. If she picks it up by the round end, it will be a boy. If she picks it up by the long end, it will be a girl. Should she pick it up at the middle, twins are on the way.

If the mother's age at conception and the year of conception are both even or both odd, the baby is a girl. If one is even and one is odd, the baby is a boy.

Ask the mum-to-be to pick a number. Match the number with the corresponding letter of the alphabet (A=1, B=2 etc). Then ask her to choose a name beginning with that letter. If she chooses a boys name, it will be a boy. If she chooses a girls name, it will be a girl.

Hang a gold pendant (preferably one the mother wears often) over the palm of the mother’s hand. If the pendant moves in a circular motion, it will be a girl. If it swings back and forth, a boy is on the way.

If the mum-to-be was the more aggressive partner when the baby was conceived, it will be a boy. If the father was the more aggressive, the baby will be a girl.

If you suffer from acne during pregnancy, you will have a girl. What side does the mum-to-be lay on while she's resting? If she lies on her left, it's a boy; on her right, it's a girl. If young boys (pre-school age) show interest in you while you're pregnant, it will be a girl. If they ignore you, expect a boy.

Ask the mum-to-be to show you her hands. If she shows them palms up, it's a girl; palms down, a boy.

If you dream of girls, you will have a boy. If you dream of boys, you will have a girl.

How am I?

18 August 2007

Approaching 15 weeks pregnancy soon, how am I?

So HAPPY: Little Tusi is growing inside me.

A bit SILLY: Cos I dun feel as unwell as "normal" pregnant women. Morning sickness? NOPE! Tiring? Just a bit. Am I really pregnant? Hahaha... VERY STUPID THINKING.

A bit WORRIED: Can i handle the rest of the months? Am I eating well enough? How can i make the pills taking more easy?

Very EXCITED: For the next gynae visit on 25 August. We might have the chance to know Little Tusi is Ms. Tusi or Mr. Tusi...

Just ENJOY this pregnancy... a piece of advice from a friend. She mentioned, I'll miss this period when it's over...

Can I Travel Whilst Pregnant?

17 August 2007

I'm VERY BORING! I want to travel before Little Tsui come to the world. It's the only chance to travel light, without big tummy and newborn baby after that. I've read from internet article that 2nd trimester is the BEST time to travel...

Planning to go HK during my 21~22weeks of pregnacy or just any place that is suitable for a pregnant woman. Not Sentosa... i wan to get out of Singapore!

Taken from: http://www.kkh.com.sg/PatientHealthLibrary/WomensHealth/Pregnancy/care1.htm#12

Commercial air travel poses no special risks to an uncomplicated pregnancy. Domestic travel is usually permitted until 36 weeks gestation whereas international travel may be curtailed after the 32nd week of pregnancy.

You should always carry documents stating your expected date of delivery. In view of the increased risk of developing deep vein thrombosis (clots in the legs) in pregnancy, air travel should be kept to a minimum. It is advisable to walk every half an hour during a smooth flight and to flex and extend the ankles as well.

Fluids should also be taken liberally because of the dehydration effects of the low humidity in aircraft cabins. Certain conditions like severe anaemia (low blood count) or a low-lying placenta are relative contraindications to flying. Unexpected events may also occur e.g. vaginal bleeding or labour. It is important to seek medical assessment before air travel.

I hate pills!

I hate swallowing pills since i'm young. I dun've the skill and guts to swallow all the pills at one go. And i always feel very uneasy when taking the vitamin supplements given by the doctor. The inner me tell myself to stop. Little Tsui have not get the Folic acid, Fish oil capsules, Calcium pills, multivitamins pill for a few days. Sorry, Little Tsui... M i a bad mummy?!

Bloat, bloat and bloat

Have been feeling very bloated after meals, usually dinner. I've try walking around to burp out the gas in the stomach. Drink carbonated drinks, Yakult, ENO to slove problems... But i realise, if i just vomitted out the food. It's helps... (Very disgusting, i know) But i think that is my type of "morning sickness" that happen after dinner!

How did Little Tsui know mummy is an night owl, not a early bird?

I've got rashes/ allergy for the 1st time!

Errgghhh... I've got rashes for the 1st time! I went to dinner with my company at Si Chuan Dou Hua, UOB Centre tonight. I start feeling itch at the neck area after the cold appetizers. Then my arms start to show rashes too. My back, thigh still to itch and i can see rashes. When the dinner ends at 10.30pm, my colleagues say that rashes can be seen on my face! OMG! I hate the hormones changes... I think little tsui dun like the food there....

I search on internet when i reach home:

Pregnancy is a time of intense change within the female body. Hormones have a profound influence on the immune system and allergic diseases may be affected by these changes. The hormones of pregnancy have steroidal type effects and which can dampen down allergies. But while in the pregnant state, the female immune system is dampened to prevent rejection of the foetus (which is immunologically a "foreign organism"). This state of increased immune tolerance has the spin-off of less direct vigilance against foreign substances. However, the allergy triggering potential of the immune system may also be heightened during pregnancy with the shift to an allergy type immune response

Liitle Tsui is so hard to please...

Arrvied the clinic in the morning. Wait for quite a while till we saw him. HE look funny with the bow tie. But he is friendly. Have a checkup, he clear up my infection and have a scan.

Sharing the news

21 June 2007

Being a bit "pang tan" on rumors that we are not to spread the news to too many people in our early stage. We have decided just to share the news with family members, close relatives and close friends. It's fun to see other people reactions when they heard the news. Hee...

Sorry if i've yet to tell you the news... But dun worry, u'll get to know it soon!
Currently, I've ask for votes: GIRL OR BOY?

It's seems like the BOY POWER is stronger. Let's wait and see... I heard that we can scan and see the baby sex as early as 4 months.

GIRL, GIRL, GIRL...

Mr Mum Pregnancy Phenomenon

Read an article on internet talking about "Mr Mum Pregnancy Phenomenon". Also known as Couvade Syndrome.

Whereby some fathers-to-be experience symptoms of pregnancy right along with their pregnant partners. Although it's hard to determine the frequency of Couvade, some researchers estimate that anywhere from 11 to 65 percent of expectant fathers experience some symptoms. And while the symptoms of Couvade Syndrome are thought to be largely psychosomatic, they are very real for the men who are suffering from nausea, vomiting, weight gain, loss of appetite, insomnia, heartburn, headaches, mood swings, backaches, and itchy skin.

Some men even report having abdominal pains while their partners are in labor. Generally the symptoms appear towards the end of the pregnancy, although they have been known to begin as early as the end of the first trimester.

So if you are experiencing Couvade, rest assured that there is a cure: childbirth. The symptoms disappear almost immediately after the baby is born. In the meantime, spend this Father's Day indulging in your current craving and nursing your aching back on the couch with your pregnant partner; after all, misery does love company.

My pregnancy week 5

15 June 2007

Growth is now focused on their little head, which is starting to develop much more rapidly than the rest of their tiny body. The amazing brain is undergoing some very crucial and rapid development in order to effectively regulate their heart rate, blood circulation, and other vital functions. As for the rest of their miniature body, what were simple limb buds last week are limb flippers this week and the tail is more expressed. Amazingly, within a mere five weeks your little miracle is already developing the rudimentary forms of their liver, pancreas, lungs, stomach and nasal pits while their little heart is already increasing its circulation.

We've went to a family doctor to confirm the pregnancy last week. So I've start to increase intake of folic acid.

We've inform our family on the good news this week! Still trying to accept the "truth" that i'm carrying another life in me!

The good news

10 June 2007

A lazy Sunday morning.

Wake up alone on bed (as Ka Man left the house early to attend a wedding) and start having a strange idea:- To test for pregnancy! Cos i've been feeling a bit OFF these days. My period is late for 2 days...

So the feeling is right! The pregnancy test kit show positive! I'm pregnant!

Took a picture of the test kit and place it on our computer wallpaper. He got to know the good news when i told him to turn on the computer at night. (He is half-drunk after the wedding dinner).

Such a special way to tell him that he is going to be a dad!
